I think this chick is everyone’s girl crush lately. Don’t know who she is…? Um, where have you been living? Under a rock?! She’s the new… well, old Carrie Bradshaw – before Sex & the City – AnnaSophia Robb.

I bought this book about three years ago when it was first released, read it cover to cover within a week put it down and didn’t think of it again. I’m a huge fan of Candace Bushnell; I’ve read half of her books: Lipstick Jungle, Sex & the City and Four Blondes. I’m still yet to read Summer & the City, One Fifth Avenue and Trading Up but they’re definitely on my reading list this year.
Since The Carrie Diaries was published there were rumours of a movie that Miley Cyrus would have be casted as the young Carrie. No offence to Miley, but she could never pull off Carrie Bradshaw’s flair, style and feminine qualities in a million years. Having AnnaSophia was a good choice.
If you haven’t gotten into The Carrie Diaries yet, you need to. Like, yesterday! If you loved Sex & the City, the fashion or even read any of Candace Bushnell’s books – you’ll love it.
Word of advice: read the book first before you get stuck into the TV series. I had watched the pilot, forgotten the book completely and refused to watch any more episodes until I had finished the book a second time around. The book is always better than the TV show/movie, so it’s definitely worth while.

Have you read The Carrie Diaries?

So, here we are at the end of 2012. This year has flown by, hasn’t it?
Lots of great things happened this year; REESEATOMIC.COM.AU turned a year old, got invited to many different special events, took myself to Sydney IMATS for a third time (second year as a Beauty Blogger) and met so many YouTubers and other fellow Beauty Bloggers, as well as many readers.
I thought I’d write a wrap up post for 2012 and bring to you my Top 12 Hit & Misses of 2012. Not all are makeup-related, just FYI.
Thank you all for visiting my blog and following me on Twitter and reading my posts. It is much appreciated!
I hope to see you all again in 2013 for another year of fun, games and all things beauty.

Dear Lara,
I’ve heard and read so much about you in the newspapers and in gossip magazines. I’ve seen two minute interviews on The Project and heard you numerous times on the Kyle & Jackie O Show.
I will admit I was quick to judge based on what was said and written about you in the media and having said that, I will also admit that I also made fun of your promo trailer for your TV show Being Lara Bingle. I thought to myself, what has the world come to? Why, all of a sudden, did celebrities need more attention brought upon themselves? I thought you were full of yourself, self-centred and blithely didn’t have any respect for Australian TV.
I even thought as much as channel 10 grasping straws to have signed you up for a TV series in hopes to get some ratings.
But, like I said earlier… I was quick to judge you and it was very wrong for me to do that.
I found myself one very quiet weekend doing some catch-up TV online and thought I’d watch your first episode. I thought to myself, it’ll be boring and I would have been right with my initial judgement of you.
I ended up watching every single episode and with last night’s episode now under my belt I can wholeheartedly say that what has been written about you was completely wrong and I’m sorry.
You are not perfect and I believe that is something you’re portraying in your TV show. You go through heartache, hardships, stress, joy, happiness and pain like we all do. You are an everyday Australian girl, with an extraordinary life and you’re doing the best you can do it with it.
Having your driver’s licence suspended? Could happen to anyone.
Being photographed nude on your balcony? Again, could happen to anybody. It could be worse if it was your neighbour across the street.
Things really hit home in the episode when you fought with your mother. It made you seem human and it brought my attention to the fact regardless of who Lara Bingle “celebrity” is, you are someone’s daughter and sister. I think that’s what a lot of people forget when they hear your name.
This is, by no means a letter from a crazy stalker fan, but from a viewer of your show who had misjudged you immensely. Thank you for being yourself and not putting up fake scenarios (à la Kim Kardashian fake wedding) in order to make your show worth watching.
Keep being Lara Bingle, because we all love her!
Kindest regards,
Reese Atomic
Being Lara Bingle airs Tuesdays at 8PM on Channel 10.

Wow, I haven’t done one of these posts since April, so this is well overdue. I will try and do these one a week in future.

For those who don’t follow me on Instagram yet, please do @girlatomic. It is private but I usually accept people.
If you like cats (my cat LC is pretty famous on it – pictured above), homecooked food, pictures of the sky, funny random signs, Simpsons stills, a few makeup looks and a few miscellaneous photos, you’ll definitely find those things on my Instagram.
My Instagram is definitely not one of those narcissistic accounts of pictures of just myself.

Being Lara Bingle
OK, I will admit that I wasn’t all too sure about this show because I had only imagined that it was going to be something trashy like The Kardashians or even worse Jersey Shore. But I was really surprised with Being Lara Bingle.
Some would say she’s annoying because of the way she fights with her mother and whatnot, but I can somewhat relate to why she does the things she does.
Overall, although it’s not great reality TV, it’s probably one of the most hygienic kinds.
Being Lara Bingle airs Tuesdays at 8PM on Channel 10.

BYS Scented Nailpolish in Rose
I’m absolutely loving this nailpolish at the moment. I didn’t know how it worked at first because when I first sampled it I put my nose straight the bottle and thought to myself, this does not smell like roses. I only realised after it dried that it has a decent fragrance of roses.
The scent doesn’t last forever, it’ll eventually fade in time and after washing your hands and applying hand cream over the top. It’s still not a disappointment because the colour is beautiful and neutral; perfect for both Winter and Summer.

KORA Organics Daily Hand Cream
This week I’ve been paying a lot of extra attention to my hands. The Winter weather has been taking it toll and I need to start making more of an effort to look after them.
KORA Organics Daily Hand Cream is my go-to hand cream. While it is expensive, it’s quickest to start recovery.

Jo Malone Orange Blossom Cologne
I got this in a goody bag last year at a book launch and fell in love with it then and I’m still in love with it now. The one I got was a sample size but it’s last me for a year already.
This scent is heavenly! Maybe I’m bias because I love citrus scents but when it comes to perfumes most are overwhelming, but this is pleasantly nice. Fresh and sweet for Summer and still good for Winter too.

Wow, it’s the end of February already?! February is one of my favourite months of the year. It’s “The Love Month” because of Valentine’s Day of course, but the weather is still bright and warm. It’s the last month of Summer in the southern hemisphere too, so its when Aussies go out and embrace the last days of Summer.
So after today’s post we are officially going into Autumn.
Here are the things I loved this month with all my heart…
