Here we are at the end of Summer. This is a product I’ve been really enjoying this Summer and I thought I’d do a quick product review.

I’ve always been quiet serious about skincare because our skin is our largest organ and needs to be taken care of it the best we can. I also suffer from chronic skin problems, so looking after my skin is something I’ve been doing since I was a kid. Having said that, my skin is far from perfect and I struggle with it daily.
If I didn’t love makeup equally as much as skincare, this blog would entirely about skincare products. True story.
I’m one of those people who constantly washes their hands. It’s not OCD but years of working in a place where it is imperative to wash your hands.
Because of this practice my hands constantly get too dry. The soap provided have a pH balance that’s just a little too harsh for me, so I’m always carrying a tube of hand cream wherever I go.
Although I will never understand why cosmetic companies insist on making products smell like food, I will admit this is probably the only exception where I don’t mind if it does.
I LOVE skincare that smell like citrus. It’s fresh and smells clean – you simply can’t fault it.
These products range from under $15 up to about $40. These also cover a range of skin types and requirements as well.
These are my favourites…

I love finding tags and memes to include on my blog because I find that you get to know me a little better and I’m not so “textbook”. I copied from Natalia’s video on her YouTube channel, which I recommend everyone subscribe to immediately because she does some great reviews on there and is also part of the Lipstick Republic Beauty Squad family.
If you’ve done this tag or plan on doing it, please let me know so I can check yours out.
Enjoy!

How many times do you wash your face daily?
Twice a day. In the morning, when I wake up and in the evening, usually in the shower. I often do my five minute skincare routine in the evening, which I highly recommend everyone doing.

A lot of other beauty bloggers do empties post, so I thought I’d start doing the same every month.
This year, I am on a spending ban. I want to get my finances in order and I want to finish the crazy amounts of makeup and beauty products I’ve collected over the months.
So… here is my first ever empties post. (There are a lot!)

Gosh! I haven’t done of these in such a long time but I’m definitely going to start getting back into it this year.
Here are the things I loved this week…

Lush’s ‘Honey I Washed The Kids’ soap
My new favourite soap! I love that the smell stays on my skin after my shower and it also makes my shower smells nice by just sitting there.
Available from Lush stores, $6.95/100g.

Soap & Glory Hand Food
It’s not the most “healthy” hand cream on the market but it’s so GOOD! It’s not sticky or greasy and does an amazing job at leaving your hands soft and silky smooth.
Available from Kit Cosmetics, $11.95.

UFC Coconut Water
I recently got back into coconut water and for some reason I only like this brand’s coconut water – second best option to straight from the source itself. I have my dude to thank for getting me hooked onto this.
Available from About Life for a little over $5 for a 1L carton.

The Carrie Diaries
Since it’s now become a TV show, I thought I’d reread this book again before I dive into watching the series.
I bought my copy from Borders, but I’m sure you could still buy this at other books stores.

EOS lip balm in ‘Sweet Mint’
Pretty much my favourite lip balm for bedtime. It’s not sticky and has a nice minty sensation without being too powerful.
Unfortunately the online store I bought this from shut down, I’m not too sure where you can get these anymore. eBay? If anyone finds out could you please let me know.

So, we’re in the middle of Summer. How are you coping?
My skin? Not so great. Because I have oily/combination skin I have to constantly make sure it’s not too oily so my face doesn’t break out.
Pore strips are a Summer staple in my vanity. I use these about once a week (sounds excessive, I know) but with my skin and how crazy it can get, applying this to my routine once a week has helped my skin clear from hideous blackheads.
I found this during a shopping excursion in the city recently. It’s from The Face Shop and it’s pretty much pore strips in liquid form.

We’re half way through Summer and it’s been drilled into our minds how important it is to protect our skin from harmful UV rays. As we know the harsh UV rays burns our skin, damages skin that makes us look older and increases your chances of getting skin cancer. No one wants that, so let’s keep our skin happy this Summer.

I’ve road-tested five daily facial moisturises with SPF to make our lives a whole lot easier. Because if you’re like me, always on the run, I don’t have the time to be putting on masses amounts of product everyday.
These are my drugstore picks that should be available in most Priceline stores and chemists and all priced well under $20, so they’re very affordable and also cruelty-free. Pretty sure you’ll be winning this Summer. READ MORE
