» LOOK WHAT I BOUGHT: TOPSHOP (makeup) Haul!

SOOO… I gave in and decided to check out TOPSHOP on the way home after a long day.

I honestly didn’t plan to buy anything. In fact, I walked into the store ten minutes before closing time and managed to walk out with four new makeup products.

» October – Going pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

So I’m a little late with this, but better late then never.

As some of us know October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, which is an extremely delicate subject for all women everywhere, as one in 9 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.

I am very fortunate that no women in my family (dad and mum’s side) have any history of breast cancer (or any cancer for that matter) but it doesn’t mean it can’t happen to us.

The best way to prevent breast cancer is to have regular mammograms because early detection is vital and gives a higher rate of survival and prevents spreading.

Last year I donated a lot to the Breast Cancer Foundation, wore the Pink Ribbon and bought products with the pink ribbon on it.

This year I coloured my hair pink just for the month of October. I know it’s probably a dismal effort, but I wanted to show my support in some way.

I decided to do the ends of my hair, or the ombré look, which is honestly nothing new. I sported this look fifteen years ago when I was a rebellious tween. But the good thing about ombré hair is that you can definitely DIY it and it’ll still look amazing because it doesn’t have to be perfect.

So to achieve pink hair, this is what I used…

» REESE RAVES – September

So, I do realise that I didn’t have a Reese Raves for August because for the first time, I didn’t have anything I overly liked and raved about. It’ll happen from time to time, but I won’t make a habit of it.

But this month, it’s back and it’s an extra special month because reeseatomic.com.au turned ONE and I also celebrated a birthday this month too, so there are a lot of things I got to try out…

» 5 THINGS I ♥’d THIS WEEK

Clipper White Tea with Raspberry
I found this by complete accident while I was at the local supermarket near my house. I liked the idea of white tea and raspberry, despite not really liking the fruity teas. I expected these to turn out red or even a pink, but alas it looks like ordinary tea.
I bought these for $5.77. Go to the Clipper Tea website for more information and a complete list of different teas they have. I haven’t seen this brand anywhere else except my small supermarket, so I don’t know how easily you’ll be able to find them.

LUSH ‘Sex Bomb’ Bath Bomb
I rarely have baths but I’m hoping that I’ll have one a little more regularly.
I used this recently and was really surprised by it. It fizzed til it completely dissolved, turned the water pink and left my skin smelling exactly like the bath bomb for hours afterwards.
‘Sex Bomb’ can be purchased from any LUSH store for $6.75. (One time use).

LUSH Porridge Handmade Soap
My new favourite soap! It’s ultra creamy and the grain in the soap is the most excellent exfoliator I’ve ever used.
Porridge handmade soap can be purchased from any LUSH store for $6.50/100g.

O.P.I nailpolish in ‘Elephantastic Pink’
I’m really into the neon fashion at the moment. This colour isn’t too neon but it’s a really bright pink.
O.P.I nailpolish can be purchased from David Jones for $19.95.

Kikki.K Gratitude Journal
So, in order to tidy up my life a little bit I decided to go on a bit of a spending spree in Kikki.K to buy a few supplies.
Just before I went to the counter I picked up the Gratitude journal and thought it would be good to write daily notes on things I am grateful for. So far, it’s made me feel very humble and blessed to have such love and positive things surrounding me.
The Gratitude Journal is available from Kikki.K for $39.95.

» ASK REESE: What can you NOT STOP wearing?

I’m currently in love with Sleek’s Pout Paint in ‘Pinkini’.
One of my best friends bought this for me while she was holidaying in the UK for a few weeks last year. I was meant to do a battle of the brands with OCC’s Lip Tars but never got around to them.

Personally I like these slightly better than the Lip Tars only because of it’s texture. While the Lip Tars are great in pigment, I find that the Pout Paint is slightly thicker and doesn’t feather too badly. Of course, it is still advised to wear with lipliner but you can honestly get away without it if applied evenly.

I’ve been wearing this more than any lipstick or lip colour.

Available at SleekMakeup.com for $8*

So I got a lot of requests asking what my top 5 favourite hot pink (fuchsia) lipsticks were because it’s common knowledge that it’s my colour of choice when it comes to lip colour.

» REESE RAVES – December

So here we are at the tail-end of 2011. I honestly can’t believe that this year went so quickly! So much as happened in my life this year. I began 2011 in Sydney with the love of my life, had the best Summer ever, went back to Melbourne and lived a pretty sweet life down there. In April/May decided to move home and by the end of June was a fully reinstated NSW-er again. Now all I want to do is move back down to Melbourne. Such is life huh?

But let’s just right into it…

» PRODUCT REVIEW: Sleek Pout Polish

I’ve heard so much hype on the internet about Sleek MakeUp. So, naturally I gravitated towards it and instantly fell in love! Bright colours, shimmer, cruelty-free makeup–I was in heaven! One of my favourite things I’ve sampled so far from Sleek have definitely been their eyeshadow palettes; but that’s a whole other post.

» M.A.C COLLECTION: Styledriven – Lips

Today M.A.C released their newest collection, Styledriven.
Here I thought I’d quickly check it out on the way home from work, but instead I couldn’t help but purchase THREE of the lip products (of course, all pink): Lipglass in ‘Full Speed Ahead’, Lipcreme in ‘Love Forever’ and Lip pencil in ‘More To Love’.
